Our Story

Founded by Pastor Ray Waters in 1993, the Village is a church that embraces and celebrates difference.

We don’t promise answers. We are truth seekers and question askers. We are a progressive Christian community that trusts that love wins.

At the Village, our faith is less about believing the same doctrines and dogmas. We keep it simple: Love God, love each other, and work on loving yourself.

We believe church is a community of people who want to help each other grow into the best versions of ourselves.

What unites us is awareness that life is a gift and love is the point. We welcome the entire human family regardless of race, age, creed, physical abilities, marital or economic status, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

The Village Church meets in The Legendary Ford Hall in historic Hapeville, GA.

Coffee at 10:45, service at 11.

More than a building, the Village is a house of love of God, love of creation’s wonders and beauty, and love of each other and ourselves. The Village is a safe haven church with a place at the table for everyone. Our message is edifying; not about shame, scaring people into believing or guilt.
